I have had a sore throat for about 2 weeks and was wondering if it could be an ear issue?

I have had this mild pain in my throat for about 2 weeks now. It only hurts when i swallow, and at first I thought it might be a throat infection of some type. I can't see anything though and I think that it might be related to one of my ears, which are always clogging up with wax and need to be cleaned. I have had sore throats for this long before, but the pain has usually intensified or subsided. This pain, however is at the same low lvl and hasn't changed. I am going to schedule a doc visit for him/her to take a look at it, but could an ear issue cause one to feel as if their throat hurts? Thanks for your help!
Answer:
Sore throats can be caused by post nasal drip, viruses, bacterial infections and from ear infections. The Eustachian tubes drain to the back of your throat too, but lower than where the post nasal drip soreness occurs. I have what my doctor calls Eustachian disorder where they block and then I end up with sore throats too.
Sounds like a sinus infection
